This utterly unique mokka harvest features notes of kumquat, sencha and strawberry cream.

Offering a beautiful panoramic view of the Nevado del Tolima volcano, La
Negrita relies on special and unique land and climatic characteristics. The sun
doesn’t beat the farm directly the whole day so they don’t need any shade
techniques, rain pours almost 365 days a year, they have natural springs and
water sources, rich volcanic soil, and high altitudes.

After finishing his medicine studies, Mauricio Shattah went to study business
administration in the United States where he noticed that Colombian coffee
was losing its international recognition. After some research, he realized that
coffee was a sustainable business so he started a roasting company selling
coffee in supermarkets and wholesales. His passion for coffees began to wake
up a big interest in specialty coffees. Liliana, his wife, who has a big inclination
for ecology and environmental responsibility, convinced him to buy a land in
Colombia in order to grow coffee. The idea of having a farm, growing coffee,
building a path to the future, and being closer to nature was Liliana’s. This is
the reason why Finca La Negrita owns its name to his wife, who he
affectionately calls “Mi Negrita Linda.”

Mauricio believes that everything he does in his farm has a scientific base and
everything can be controlled in order to produce specialty coffee doing an
absolutely perfect post-harvest process. Mauricio bought special variety seeds
in Central America to grow in his farm and he experiments new things with all
of his coffee lots. He dreams to be the best coffee grower in the world and to
be known worldwide for his perfect - no defect coffees. He plans to expand
and try new and more exotic varieties in his farm offering complete traceability
to his coffee.
