Roasts Monday March 20!

El Socorro’s cup displays elegantly nuanced yet well-articulated notes of cherry and lively passion fruit edged with watermelon.

El Socorro has been one of the most winning farms in the annual Guatemala Cup of Excellence competitions over the past decade, having won eight out of the last nine years. This record reflects the seriousness the owner, Juan Diego de la Cerda, and his son, Diego, take towards producing very specially crafted coffee.

Two weather systems meet at El Socorro, with moist warm air streaming from the Gulf coast and colder, dryer air from the Pacific, resulting in moderate to slightly dry rainfall over the year.

El Socorro is carefully expanding the varieties of coffee grown, among them the unique prize-winning Maracaturra, which is a cross between Caturra and the giant-beaned Maragogype.
