The Kilenso Mokonisa has perfumed aromas of lime-scented honeycomb give way to coffee-soaked soft peach-citrus with a touch of lavender.
Located just south of the Yirgacheffe area, the Kilenso Mokonisa Cooperative coffees are grown around the town of Hagere Mariam and are prized by coffee connoisseurs for their refined perfumed aromatics. The region produces a minimal amount of rainfall for coffee production (1,200 mm or 47 inches), which may contribute to its coffee’s unique characteristics.
The coffees are washed in the traditional Ethiopian manner and then dried on raised racks while undergoing intense sorting to remove blemishes that might harm the coffee’s flavor.
Orders must be placed by 6:00am (Eastern Time) on their roasting date.
