The Karindundu Cooperative wet mill lies on the foothills of Mt. Kenya in Nyeri county. It has 520 members who deliver coffee cherry to the wet mill. The typical farmer grows only about 200 coffee tree as well as cows, maize, beans and other plants for local consumption. The soil in the area is rich in red volcanic loam soils.

The selected coffee fruit delivered for the top grades is a very uniform bright red-orange. Coffee is processed the traditional Kenya way with fastidious attention to the most thorough yet gentle cleaning of fruit off the beans (seeds) followed by equally gentle drying on raised beds.
