Karatu is one of three wet mills forming part of the Gitwe Cooperative Society of Farmers, Ltd. Approximately 900 farmers, with an average of 150 coffee trees, bring their coffee cherries to this mill. Karatu is on the east-facing side of the Aberdare Mountains. This is a very high grown Kenya with blackberry and lively citrus accents.
