New coffee from Karindundu Wet Mill now roasting.

Karindundu is one of four wet coffee mills run by the Barichu Coffee Farmers Cooperative Society. This one mill services over 800 farmers, each owning an average of 180 coffee trees. A tree might produce 1 to 2 lbs of roasted coffee. About 40% of the farmers are women. Coffee is their cash crop while they grow beans, maize, vegetables, macadamia. avocado and bananas for internal consumption.

The selected coffee fruit delivered for the top grades is a very uniform bright red-orange. Coffee is processed the traditional Kenya way with fastidious attention to the most thorough yet gentle cleaning of fruit off the beans (seeds) followed by equally gentle drying on raised beds.
