Gaturiri is a big bodied coffee with creamy notes of cherries, lime, blackberry, and plum.

Gaturiri is one of four wet coffee mills run by the Barichu Coffee Farmers Cooperative Society. This one mill services over 1000 farmers, each owning 150 to 200 coffee trees, on average. A tree might produce 1 to 2 lbs of roasted coffee. 42% of the farmers are women. Coffee is their cash crop while they grow beans, maize, vegetables, macadamia. avocado and bananas for internal consumption.

Gaturiri stands out as one the best quality producing cooperative enterprises in Kenya, producing some of the finest coffees in the world market today. The selected coffee fruit delivered for the top grades is a very uniform bright red-orange. Coffee is processed the traditional Kenya way with fastidious attention to the most thorough yet gentle cleaning of fruit off the beans (seeds) followed by equally gentle drying.
